Trevor Brooks, a longtime friend of Chris Mulé from their days at Florida State University, has been well-known in the New Orleans community for years as a bad-ass keyboard player, technical wizard of musical gear, and all-around great guy. In early 2010 Brooks was invited by the members of Honey Island Swamp Band to sit-in with the band on keyboards for a number of gigs. The combination was so successful, with Brooks adding just the right amount of new texture to the already expanding HISB sound, that by fall of 2010 the band asked him to join HISB as a permanent full-time member.
