Florida Run Redux
It’s been a while now, but since we’ve got this blog feature rolling now we have to give a shout out to all the great people we met on our recent swing down through Florida. Hats off first to our buddy Adam Shipley who set up a great couple of shows for us at Universal Studios in Orlando. He’s been bringing New Orleans bands down there for years and is a true ambassador for the city.
We started out in my hometown of Pensacola, FL before heading on south and had a great show at the Paradise Inn, a hip little joint out on the island. Big thanks to René for making us feel at home. After Universal we swung through Bradenton for a Sunday evening set at Aces. What a nice surprise to find this killer room tucked off the highway just a couple miles from the coast. Can’t wait to get back there.
We rounded out the trip with stops at the Hurricane in Marathon, Pulp Live Ft. Lauderdale, and everybody’s hands-down favorite, the Green Parrot in Key West. John, you have a legendary institution there. Thanks as always to Jim, Pat and the rest of the Green Parrot crew for making it a memorable stay. Hope to see you all again in January!
