Florida Run Redux

Green ParrotIt’s been a while now, but since we’ve got this blog feature rolling now we have to give a shout out to all the great people we met on our recent swing down through Florida.  Hats off first to our buddy Adam Shipley who set up a great couple of shows for us at Universal Studios in Orlando.  He’s been bringing New Orleans bands down there for years and is a true ambassador for the city.

We started out in my hometown of Pensacola, FL before heading on south and had a great show at the Paradise Inn, a hip little joint out on the island.  Big thanks to René for making us feel at home.  After Universal we swung through Bradenton for a Sunday evening set at Aces.  What a nice surprise to find this killer room tucked off the highway just a couple miles from the coast.  Can’t wait to get back there.

Chris Mulé Pulp LiveWe rounded out the trip with stops at the Hurricane in Marathon, Pulp Live Ft. Lauderdale, and everybody’s hands-down favorite, the Green Parrot in Key West.  John, you have a legendary institution there.  Thanks as always to Jim, Pat and the rest of the Green Parrot crew for making it a memorable stay.  Hope to see you all again in January!
