Honey Island Swamp Band
Beginning in San Francisco in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, a group of New Orleans musicians pooled their collective talents and set their sights on the way back home. This group, the Honey Island Swamp Band, has since emerged as one of the most promising acts to come out of the Big Easy in recent years. As captured on their excellent, new album “Wishing Well,” their loose, roots flavored brew brims with backwoods blues, feel good rhythms and sun-speckled melodies. Fresh off performances at French Quarter Fest, Jazzfest and Wednesdays at the Square, the Honey Island Swamp Band is certain to satisfy on the banks of Bayou St. John.
When: Saturday, May 23
